All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This boy was a facebook plea.... hiding out under a tractor trailer in a parking lot.  Exhausted from the heat and itching from fleas.

We sent a volunteer to fetch him and she brought him to the vet where he was given a throrugh exam and assessment.

He suffered from exhaustion and yeast infection (ears) and skin infection (from scratching)

overall, a wonderful little leggy boy.  VERY SWEET.  VERY attached.  wants to be with is people.  

From Casey's foster:

He is the best dog! He has a sweet disposition and gets along with everyone. He likes playing with other dogs and does well with cats. If they hiss, he just walks away. Casey is laid back and has a calm energy. He'd be great for someone seeking a calmer and lower energy dog. He loves toys, chews, and some play. He will hug your arm or leg with his front legs. 

He really just wants to be near his people. I think he would do great in a home with other dogs or even as a single dog in a home where someone will have time to play with him. Casey will calmly play by himself or nap on the floor for hours, no problem. He is kennel training now, and doing well, but he would really prefer to just be out with you. Potty training is going well so far, but he is still a puppy, so he needs a little more time to train. He eats Taste of the Wild High Prairie wet and dry food currently.

He is generally low key and will just follow you around the house everywhere. Casey is sweet and surprisingly calm for a puppy. He will make a great family member for someone!

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
