All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet Georgette!

This sweet, beautfiul girl had a rough start. She was brought into Harris County Animal Shelter about 8/14, as a very small puppy, no more than 2 months old. When she arrived, she had dermatitis, was covered in matted feces and dirt, and had fleas. Her belly was distended, likely from worms, and she was malnourished. She was immediately dewormed and given her needed puppy vaccines, and started on the road to recovery.

We pulled Georgette from the shelter and took her right to our vet for a routine intake check up. It was soon clear she had a congenital deformity in her front legs that causes them to bow out. She can still walk, and it doesn't seem to cause her pain. We took her to the vet again shortly to discuss options for correcting the condition. The vet says surgery may be able to help her legs, so we are preparing for her to have surgery. We need donations to cover the expense - which is $1000 for each leg. Georgette is a BEAUTIFUL, sweet girl. She is SO calm and gentle, especially for a young puppy her age. Her coat is gorgeous and silky soft. It's very short, so low maintenance on grooming. When you see Georgette in person, you just want to smile because she is so precious. She may have had a rough start in life, but this sweet dog is going to bring so much joy to her forever family.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
