All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Maverick came to YRH as an owner surrender due to family issues. They indicated that they were having to place him in a crate for extended periods of time as he would occasionally urinate in the house. He is playful, sweet and although small he is described as not afraid of anything. He plays well with other animals and people. He was quite under weight, so we are working on putting some weight on him and since being in his foster's home he has not had any problems. He is not a lap dog, but he wants to be near you. He has been fully updated with vaccinations, rabies and has been microchipped. He will be neutered soon so he should be ready for adoption shortly!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
