All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little boy comes to us as an owner surrender who was not able to spend the time with him that she feels he needs. He is 7-8 years old and VERY active. He was being left for extended periods while his owner worked and began having accidents as well as being very vocal in the apartment. She describes him as liking to have attention, gets excited and pees, but he is generally OK if you pick him up and leash him. This little boy does NOT like car rides. The perfect home would probably be someone who does not leave him for extended periods of time. He can get excited and accidently nip if you are not watching, so no young children. He is a SWEET dog that just needs someone who will spend time with him.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
