All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy loves people. He is reserved at first but likes to cuddle once you have gained his trust. He gets along with other dogs but is a little leash reactive due to his excitement and wanting to greet the new dogs.  He chases cats but is not aggressive and if they stand their ground he backs off.  He is a runner - if he gets out of the door without a leash  it is difficult to get him to come back.  He enjoys long walks - about 3 miles twice per day so he will need a fairly active owner.  He just started playing with a toy recently for the first time after he saw another other dog playing with one.  He is a good dog that just needs some basic training.

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
