All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This precious boy was found huddling hiding, behind the Harris County Animal Shelter, afraid, overheated, matted to the skin, starving and ready to die.  Merlrose park is a popular dumping ground for unwanted and cast-a-way pets since it's right across the street from the Shelter.  Melrose advocate, Melissa, put a plea out on Facebook for help for this wee one and we knew we had to help him.

After being sedated he was able to be shaved down and it was only then the full extend of his neglect was apparent.  he was skin and bones.  

He's eating great, putting on weight and learning to love and trust again.  He's pee pad trained and may even be house broken.. but we dont' know yet.

He seems to prefer women, but allowed my husband to love on him.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
