All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

UPDATE:

This sweet girl has been through a lot. We thought she had a fractured hip, but our excellent orthopedic surgeon diagnosed her as having  Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease a genetic condition in which the blood supply to the femoral head dies and the bone deteriorates and decays. Our orthopedic surgeon indicates that this is an extremely painful disease, so we authorized a bilateral femoral head ostectomy (FHO) along with a spay. The surgery was successful, but the damage was so bad that her right hind leg could not be saved so we had to eventually amputate and she has not missed a step since the amputation. She has had her stitches removed and she is healing wonderfully. Since the amputation her personality has started to blossom - she is no longer in consistent pain and she is ready to play! Let’s get her a new forever family.

This adorable little one was found with a significant limp which was determined to be a fracture of the pelvis which had started to heal. Unfortunately leaving the injury for the extended period has caused other structure problems that will require orthopedic surgery. Although she is very young she has the soul of a gentle calm angel.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
