All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Kiki was originally found running the streets. She must have been out there a long time because she was severely matted. We are working on her house training, but she is very smart and learns quickly. We believe that she is about 6 years old with a slight overbite that gives her the appearance that she is smiling. She loves to be with her person - not necessarily on your lap, but in your presence and she is not a fan of the crate. So she would probably do better with an individual who is not away from the home for extended periods and can continue with her learning. Won't you give her a soft place to land??

This dog was picked up by a shelter before finally coming into our rescue - pictures make is seem like she is smiling. She is a very sweet girl who loves to spend time with people. Lets give this girl her new forever home!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
