All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This adorable little boy has been left by his owners twice - the last owner moved into an apartment that didn't accept dogs so they surrendered him to the shelter. He is a sweet and very friendly little boy who reportedly loves to play catch. Initially during his first time in the shelter he was terrified, but  they reported o nce he got out of the kennel he would warm up - love to sit in their lap and give kisses. His initial reaction to us was immediately warm with a couple of kisses. He has not spent much time on a leash - so he'll need some basic training. It's now time to get him is final FOREVER home!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
