All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This poor baby has had a rough start to life. He was formerly owed by a woman who gave him to a meal delivery person who in turn gave him to another individual. According to the information she was told that the former owner kept him tied to a rope in her house. They took him to the vet only to find out he was heartworm positive, has bad teeth and cataracts. Unfortunately they were not able to afford the heartworm treatment or the other medical expenses so they surrendered him to us to get the necessary treatment. Charlie is a very active dog that wants attention and appears to have some protective issues - he bit the lawn guy. He is scared of loud noises such as fireworks and thunder, he is pee pad trained but he may just need that right someone to show him that people are not bad. Won't you be his savior?    

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
