All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Since this puppy is too young to be spayed, she cannot be legally adopted yet.  As a result, this puppy must be placed in a 'foster to adopt' home.  This means, the rescue still maintains legal ownership of the dog. Should be you approved under the 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA) program, you will be asked to execute a Foster-to-adopt Contract and submit ½ of the adoption amount. When she reaches the appropriate age and is spayed, we then complete the adoption contract.  Our vet has advised that they can be spayed at appx 3 months of age.

As a foster, you would be required to get the puppy to our vet (in Spring) for regular visits, vaccinations and the spay appointment (the rescue pays for this). If this is a problem your application cannot be approved.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
