All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Mitzy has had all her surgeries!!  She's been spayed, had all her mammary tumors removed and has learned to trust (a little).

She needs to a home without a lot of commotion.  No children.

You may apply for this dog is you are a single lady, who doesn't entertain often.  Mitzy doesn't like visitors to her home.  You must have experience with dogs... no first time pet owners.  She is good with other dogs.

This little girl was found in one of the infamous Katy pastures without a collar, or microchip. She is afraid of everyone and everything. When we took her for her initial exam, we found that she was full of worms and has mammary tumors. She is currently in isolation until she is worm free. At that point, she will have her tumors removed and be spayed. In the meantime, her foster mom is teaching her how to trust again and is introducing her to a non-scary world. She is going to need a quiet slow paced place to land. She is not housebroken however, she is doing a pretty good job  at using pee pads.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
