All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

UPDATE 5/4/20: Mavis has completed her motherly duties and is ready for her forever home. She has definitely come out of her shell since she first came to us. She is quite active and loves to play with other dogs. Once she has that out of her system she loves nothing more that to sit beside her foster get some loving. Her foster reports she is doing wonderfully with house training - she takes her out regularly and she hasn't had an accident since but she may continue to need training and reinforcement. She is scheduled for her spay tomorrow and then she will be ready to meet her new family!

This little girl was taken to a shelter with her puppy and another dog. She is a sweet little cuddle bug, who just wants to be with her person. She is in the process of weaning her puppy. When her puppy is weaned, she will get her inoculations and be spayed. At that point, she will be available for adoption

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
