All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet girl came to us as an owner surrender. She was originally purchased from a breeder and due to unexpected circumstances they were unable to keep her. She is a strong willed little girl that doesn't like to be told no. She is also not fond of being crated.  The previous owner indicates that she is pee pad trained but will go outside if you take her out regularly. She is fairly active likes to go on walks. While she is Ok with women, she prefers to be with men. She is not too sure of the other dogs in the foster's home, but she is beginning to warm up a little. She maybe best as an only dog. She will need to be spayed and then she will be available for adoption.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
