All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy was found running the streets. The good news is he was microchipped. The bad news is the owner appears to not want him anymore. We are not sure how he got his name because he's was just the sweetest boy on his freedom ride - he just settled in for the ride and slept. We plan to have him checked out by our vet and then take him for a good grooming as he is pretty matted. Being in a shelter is exhausting, so we are looking forward to find out his personality as he decompresses. This is really all we know about him for now. We'll update once he has had a chance to chill out at his foster's house.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
