All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Munchkin is an approximately 1.5 year old neutered male.  He was surrendered to us by a very nice woman whose medical and financial issues prevent her from giving Munchkin the life she knows he deserves.  You can tell he's been well-loved.  Munchkin is active little guy...full of energy! He's friendly with other dogs and people, including children.  He's kennel-trained and seems potty-trained, as well.  He can be vocal at times - for instance when someone knocks at the door.  He's got a wonderful personality -- has shown no signs of food, animal, or people aggression.  He absolutely loves treats and children!  Munchkin loves to snuggle in the bed with his humans at night.  Munchkin's dream home would be an active one with kids old enough to treat him nicely and other small active dogs. 

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
