All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This beautiful little guy was surrendered when he nipped at a toddler in the home.  Dad was furious and demanded he be GONE!  (The child was bit in the face)  But that tells me the child was in THE DOG'S face, so...

Parents, you MUST teach your children to respect the dogs space.  Now, this happy healthy little boy has found himself homeless.  But you can change that.  He's friendly, playful, loving and gentle!  Since he has a bite history, he will not be adopted to a home with young children.

You can apply to adopt Theodore IF YOU HAVE NO YOUNG CHILDREN or GRANDCHILDREN... (please don't tell my your kids are 'trained'  I don't care!  I will NOT Put them OR THIS DOG at risk)

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
