All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Chello's perfect home will include

1.) someone who is home with him all day,

2) at least 1 child (8yrs or older) or another young dog to play with

3.) a fenced yard in which to play,

4.) an owner who understands that his liver may require more care.

5.)an owner willing to keep him on his prescribed diet and medications.

 Chello has had his surgery to repair a liver shunt and it went very well. He will still need to stay on a prescription diet and have his bile acids checked periodically. Other than that this sweet, playful boy is ready for his new home.

. He is pee pad trained and will bark when he wants to take care of his business outside. He is extremely friendly - loves to give you puppy kisses. He is good with kids but due to his small size, no small kids please. We will update more later when we find out more about him.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
