All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

update Butik has lost weight and is a healthy happy little boy!  He's active in his foster home and loves his daily walks.

He does well with other dogs and kids.  Butik is a cushings dog, and will require medication daily

this precious butterball is an owner surrender.  He came from a home where he was fed table food.  they didn't realize they were killing this dog.  obesity and heart disease is NOT just for humans.  He has chronic dry eye and needs drops daily.

He requires low fat food and daily walks.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
