All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Hugo lost his family in a divorce.  Dad walked out, didn't take Hugo.  Mom didn't want him.  (Divorce is so messy)

This poor pup has been fed a diet of junk (Kibbles n bits) and had absolutely no vetting since he was a puppy.

So, we will get him vetting, neutered, chipped and treated for his skin infections (garbage in-garbage out)

has a slightly cloudy eye.

Hugo's visit to the ophthamologist was great.  He has some cloudiness in his eye, but still has vision.  Doc said he has 'great' vision in his other eye and does not recommend surgery for his cataract.  Hugo is a wonderful little dog who just wants to be loved.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
