All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found wandering with 2 other dogs.  One dog had a collar.  called owner. she didn't want dog back.  This baby had no tag/collar/chip.  So, we vetted him.  He was given puppy shots + a booster @ 3 weeks.  During the vetting process, he was found to be suffering from intestinal parasites.  The bacterium are known as Giardia and Coccidia  and can be fatal if left untreated.  He required 3 weeks of ISO and treatment.  With a final negative fecal result, he can now be adopted.

He will wander the streets no more.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
