All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

SUBMIT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION ONLY

This baby (and his brother Champ3) was surrendered to us when he was 6 weeks old.  He stayed with mom until he was old enough to be weaned.  He needs multiple visits to the vet for vaccines and must be neutered prior to final adoption.

Since the puppy is too young to be Neutered, he cannot be legally adopted yet.  As a result, he must be placed in 'foster to adopt' homes.  This means, the rescue still maintains legal ownership of the dog and upon satisfying the neuter requirement when the dog reaching appropriate age, we complete the adoption contract.  Our vet said they can be neuter at appx 4 months of age.

As a foster, you would be required to get the puppy to our vet (in Spring) for regular visits for vaccinations and his neuter appointment (the rescue pays for this).

If this is a problem your application cannot be approved.   

Please do not try to renegotiate this 

Any attempt to modify this arrangement will void the agreement and the dog will be returned to rescue!

Upon review, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions.  Please be as thorough as possible in the answering the questions.  Missing phone numbers, invalid addresses, or other inaccurate data will cause your application to be denied without further processing.

If approved, we will forward your application to the foster for review.  If the foster feels like this is a ‘good fit’, they will contact you to schedule  a 'Meet & Greet'  

Should be you approved to 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA), you will be asked to execute a Foster-to-adopt Contract and submit ½ of the adoption fee.  (Our adoption fee varies by dog and payable by cash only.)  Please take the time to READ the contract.  If the terms are NOT AGREEABLE, please do not submit your application.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
