All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Adopted and living HER BEST LIFE, Penny is being returned to rescue through no fault of her own.  The family has a 10 yr old lab who did not welcome Penny into the home.  As a result, Penny's safety was compromised.

Penny, per her adopter, is 'the perfect dog'  She is a 'Let's cuddle on the couch' dog as well as 'Let's go jogging' dog.  Penny is playful and loves to give kisses.  She is happiest being with her people, but does fine alone too.

Penny was surrendered by her family who kept her tethered out in the yard on the farm. 

We are thankful they allowed us to give her a better life.

She is shy, but VERY friendly.  She's said to get along with cats and big dogs.  She does fine with the littles here in her rescue pack.

Penny needs to learn how to be a family dog, not a yard ornament!

She loves to give kisses and cuddles.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
