Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system. To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters. Our adoption fee varies by dog. We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only. A FTA contract is required.
Gracie and her Lulu were raised together in a loving home. Lulu developed a seizure disorder. This proved to be a trigger for Gracie. When Lulu had a seizure, Gracie attacked her. Gracie can ONLY go to a home with HEALTHY dogs. No special needs dogs, please. From Gracie's previous owner:Gracie is a 2 year old Australian Terrier who is sweet, playful and high energy. She would do well in a home with healthy pets, as she likes to play with others as well as play with her toys. She’s always been around other dogs so don’t know how she would do where there are no other dogs. She gets her toys out of the dog bin when she wants to play with them. She has no preference and loves moms and dads. The only time she was around children she seemed skittish. She likes to be with people or dogs and likes to sleep in your bed under the covers, but loves her kennel also and will kennel up in her kennel if you tell her to do so. If in her kennel for the night she would prefer her kennel to be in your room. Gracie is an escape artist. She loves to run and would love a fenced in backyard, although she ventures out of the yard through the wrought iron fence and goes sightseeing but returns in 20-25 minutes. A solid 6' privacy fence is required. She will tolerate car rides but sometimes her tummy gets upset and she will vomit. She likes to graze during the day and eats small amounts of food throughout the day so doesn’t have set eating times. She potties outside for the most part, but has an accident at least every other day in the house. When left home alone, she should be placed in her kennel because she’s mischievous and will tear up anything left down or on side/coffee tables as she considers them toys. She loves to walk on her leash but needs a little work as she pulls on the leash a lot because she so exuberant. She loves to be petted and is very social and she even tries to talk to you! She’s a wonderful sentry and alerts us with barking whenever anyone around our home or before they even ring the doorbell. Although Gracie is very much a part of our family and we love her very much, she has attacked one of our other dogs several times, we believe because our other dog experiences seizures. Gracie and our other dog Lulu are best friends until Lulu experiences a seizure then Gracie attacks her. We have an elderly dog also that Gracie has never attacked. Gracie has been boarded several times at Willowcreek Dog Ranch where the dogs are not kenneled and allowed to play all day, and at night she is placed in a room with 3 other dogs. She has never attacked a dog at Willowcreek Dog Ranch and the employees at the facility said anyone who is interested in adopting Gracie can call them and they will talk with you.
