All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This beautiful butterball needs an owner who is committed to helping her get back to a healthy weight.  She is obese and needs 2-a-day walks.  Short at first, then, as she trims down and her heart gets stronger, longer.  Obesity is deadly for small dogs.  She will not go to a sedentary senior citizen.  She needs an active healthy family who loves to take their dog for walks, and then will cuddle them under the covers at night!

Kinzie has a chicken allergy so she must never be fed a chicken based food.

She is having a dental Thursday, and will be available for her forever home after that.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
