All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This boy was found, and exhaustive efforts were made to locate owners.  After 3 months, the finder surrendered him to our rescue for rehoming.  

First stop - VET!
He had several teeth pulled - and only has a few teeth on his uppers now! 

He is a great little dog but takes a little time to warm up, especially to men.
He would do best in an adult only home where he could be with his family all the time. He will cry when the door is closed or when he is in his kennel, and he knows that you are home. He truly wants to be with people all the time. 
He gets nervous in cars and sometimes when we go to new places - he needs time to get comfortable. 
He DOES mark, but after he was neutered, he has been marking far less. He will willingly wear a belly band though. 
He adores squeaky toys, does well with other dogs, but would be best if he was fed separate. 
He won't jump up on the furniture, but he will always want to be next to you, so he will let you know to pick him up.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
