All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little girl is a sweetheart!  She came to us timid and fearful after being in a backyard breeder/hoarding situation.  She had very little socialization, but after just a day or two in a foster home she has really opened up.  She's even crawling into her foster mom's lap for cuddles.  Lily is a really mellow dog, who loves to curl up next to her person.  She's only 1-2 years old, but doesn't have that crazy/destructive puppy energy (hooray!).   She gets along fine with the foster mom's small dog....except when he tries to take her treat, toy, etc.  Still working on housetraining, but a consistent schedule for her has helped.   She hasn't had any exposure to cats, but her foster mom suspects she'd do fine.  She'd also be a nice companion for kids old enough to treat her respectfully.  This little girl is going to make a wonderful addition to someone's home.  Is it yours?

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
