All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet Ellwood (Woodsie) for short. The sweetest dog looking for his perfect match! Elwood is searching for a home that understands the importance of trust and patience. It can take him a little while to trust  but when he does, he will give you lots of love.

He would thrive in a home with older, respectful children, where he can feel safe and loved. Elwood will be your loyal shadow, always by your side and looking at you with adoring eyes. 

A gradual adoption process would be ideal for Elwood, as he has been through a lot and needs time to learn and trust.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
