All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This baby sought refuge under a bush during a severe thunderstorm.  A good samaritan took him inside her barn (no dogs were allowed in the house - yeah, I know)

Anyway, we went and picked him up and immediately, it was obvious he was sight impaired.

Quick trip to the vet, got him vaccinated and chipped.  Referred to eye specialist. Confirmed what we already knew.  Both eyes were sightless.

This boy underwent a double enucleation. and is has healed completely.  He does NOT KNOW he's blind!!!  He uses a doggie door, finds his way around the yard, climbs up on the couch and jumps down from same.  He gets along with other dogs and loves toys!!

He is a love piggy!!  Loving cuddle time.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
