All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This gorgeous boy was surrendered when his owner could no longer give him the attention he deserved.  He is a quiet boy who loves to be loved.  He's very shy, but gets along with all the other dogs.  Leo is a lean boy who could use an additional pound or so.

He appears to be housebroke.  He is learning to use the doggie door and can go out, but hasn't figured out how to come back in!

Per the previous owner: Leo - is just a burst of energy meaning he loves to play and fetch (he will even play with himself lol) he would do amazing with some children to play with but at the same time he would do great with a single person or a couple -  GREAT companion - and this has been an extremely hard decision for me - but my lifestyle is not fair to (him) and have to put (his) needs first.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
