All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Update: This little lady is doing great. She returns next weeks for her 2nd post op chest X-ray to see how her ribs are healing. She is very sweet and loving. She is still healing internally but you wouldn’t know it. Her activity is still being monitored and kept to minimum to allow healing and caution when picking her up. 
 

Injured by car or dog attack, this poor precious girl sat waiting for a hero for 7 days at the shelter.  They sent out a plea, and we answered immediately, she still had to wait 2 days to be released.  We rushed her to our surgeon where he tried to rebuild her rib-cage.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
