All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Pulled from BARC just before the freeze.  Good Samaritan told ACO this boy had been hit by a car.  However, staff saw no injuries.  After his 3 day hold, we pulled him and went straight to our vet for exam and xrays.  Our vet didn't see any injuries and indicated xrays were not necessary.  He's a quite boy, shy.  But happy and gentle

Exam revealed he had Grade 1 dental disease, so he will get a dental during his neuter

This boy is now fully vetted and ready for his forever home!

He's very needy.  Wants to be with his people at all times!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
