All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found running the streets, intact, no collar, no tags, no chip.  She was saved from traffic by a good Samaritan and reached out to us for help.

She's looking for the home that deserves her.

She is absolutely the perfect dog.  Loves her toys.  She goes to the door when she needs to potty, is crate trained, fairly good on a leash, loves going for a walk.  She loves kids, gets along great with other small dogs, and loves to cuddle/get head scratches. She's quiet. She's very attached to my 16yr old daughter.  She has sharp teeth so when she's playing she can nip some, so perhaps a family with older kids would be a better fit. I've been teaching her how to sit and she's taken to it quickly.  She obedient when called, and has taken to her new name "Pebbles" quickly. She can be high energy and she's cleared my sofa (which is about 3' high in the back)! 

Just a note, while she doesn't touch anything but her toys, she spends hours playing with them and then don't last long...so at present the toll is Pebbles: 3, Toys: 0!  

She's spayed, chipped, fully vaccinated, on heartworm prevention and Flea/tick prevention.

She's been groomed and ready for adoption.

Oh, she LOVES to give kisses and just follow you around.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
