All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Hi, I’m Sonoma and my foster mom says I am the goodest puppy!  I like it here, but I think I would like having my very own family mostest!  Really I am just the most happiest to not be on the mean streets any more and get lots of tummy rubs.  I have a foster sister, this is her forever home and I like her, but she must not be super smart like me because our mom says to her all the time that she could learn from me so I must be the smartest, most bestest puppy ever!  Next door is a big dog and I really like her….sometimes I am not afraid and I go through the bars to her side to play, but then my mom tells me to come home so I do right away cuz she doesn’t sound like she is playing.  I have a big yard here and i am sooooo good at going to potty only in the yard except for when I am home alone with my foster dad….he forgets to take us out (he always get in trouble for that) and a girl can only hold her wee’s for so long!  I like to chew, but mom says I can only chew on my dog bones and toys so i don’t chew on things I find or my foster sister anymore….Mom makes sure I have lots of bones since I like to hides them to chew on later, but then forgets where I hides them!  Ohhhhh, I forgot to tell you that last week there were two mini-hoomans here and one was a super mini-hooman. Mom said we were the same age, but he was bigger.  I think mom was worried about me because I am a playful girl, but I was so careful and didn’t try to jump and knock the mini-hooman over like my sister did. I think the mini-hoomans liked me most because I didn’t give them face kisses or make them fall down.  So if you have mini-hoomans too I will be their bestest friend, I promise!

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
