All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found running up the road, finder took into their home for safe keeping.  Finder took her to be scanned, she was chipped!  Finder opened a 'found dog' report with the chip company, contacted the veterinary office where she was chipped, who attempted to reached out to the owner, however the contact information was out of date.

the clinic and the chip company was unable to find current contact information.  Owner never responded, never opened a 'lost dog' report.

This girl had been dumped.

We agreed to take her in.  She's now up to date on  her vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea control.

She was already spayed, so we did her 'dental'

This delightful girl will do well in a home where she can get lots of cuddles and attention!

Medical note:  Bailey has 'chronic dry eye' and will need lifelong eye-drops.  Her adopter should be prepared for this.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
