All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Taz and his breeding mate were dumped by their breeder.  He and Maizy were found November 6th in the vicinity of 32nd and Ashland.    They were taken to a local vet and cared for for about 3 weeks.  when it became apparent no one was looking for these sweethearts, Yorkie Rescue Houston responded to the call.  Taz is now neutered, fully vetted and ready for his forever home.  Because he was neutered late in life, Taz 'marks' quite a lot.  His adoptive family will need to be familiar with belly bands and be prepared to help break him of this bad habit.

He has a touch of arthritis but gets around ok.

Our Standard adoption fee is $300.  This includes a fully vetted pup, Heart Worm tested, Microchipped and HW prevention.

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
