All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This tiny boy was surrendered after he broke his leg (again)

in August, he broke his LEFT front leg.  He was in a cast for 8 weeks.  while in recovery, he jumped off the furniture again and broke his OTHER LEG!  His elderly owner took him to the vet to be euthanized, as she could not afford to treat him again.

The vet tech convinced the woman to surrender him.  She did.  They reached out to us and we said 'yes'

This baby came into rescue on Tuesday evening, and went into surgery Wednesday morning.

Biskit has had his leg repaired by our expert orthor surgeon and is now ready to go home.  He needs a home where he can be MONITORED and trained to use ramp/stairs if he's allowed to get on furniture.

Please do not apply for Biskit if you have children under 9, or are a senior over 65.  This is a FRAGILE PUPPY.  He needs a very special home.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
